Sunset Park Update
We’re happy to announce that Sunset Park is partially reopened!
The pavilion and restrooms are now open and available for public use. However, the asphalt parking lot is closed as construction begins on the new ADA-accessible dune walkover.
During construction, we are working closely with the Department of Environmental Protection and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission to ensure all work complies with wildlife nesting protections and dune vegetation preservation requirements.
We appreciate your patience and understanding as we make these important improvements to enhance this beautiful community park for residents and visitors alike.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact City Hall at 850-648-5700, ext. 7.
Thank you for your continued support as we invest in improving Sunset Park!
About Mexico Beach
The Gem of the Forgotten Coast
The City of Mexico Beach is a quaint coastal community located on the northwest Florida coast. In stark contrast to neighboring cities along the Gulf Coast, Mexico Beach has maintained its small-town charm for decades through responsible planning and development. The City provides a wide range of services to both its year-round residents and visitors alike. As a result of damages incurred from Hurricane Michael in 2018, the City has rebuilt much of its infrastructure and resources, including an improved boat canal, beachfront parks, and more.
